Myrtle Beach Topgolf holds ribbon-cutting ceremony on opening day

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach’s new Topgolf held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on its opening day.

The Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce offered congratulations to the new business in a Facebook post, saying in part “congratulations to Topgolf Myrtle Beach for their ribbon-cutting ceremony today.”

On Monday, Topgolf Myrtle Beach announced an opening date of March 1 at 9 a.m. in a Facebook post.

Topgolf calls itself a sports entertainment complex that features an inclusive, high-tech golf game. The company’s “signature game” involves players scoring points by hitting balls into any target on the driving range.

Topgolf will be the first of its kind in South Carolina, although a location in Greenville will also be opening soon.

The facility in Myrtle Beach broke ground in April 2018 and is located at 2850 Robert Grissom Parkway.

In December, around 350 new jobs were posted on Topgolf’s website.

A press release said Topgolf was looking for servers, bartenders, kitchen, maintenance, guest services staff, and other positions.

On February 20, Topgolf leaders announced that the company had hired 350 people for the new location.
