Two people have been arrested for an armed robbery in Robeson County.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook on Friday James Corey Deese and Justin Jamal McNeill were arrested by investigators in connection to a robbery that happened at the 41 Grocery and Market on Wednesday.

According to the post, Deese’s bond was set at $285,000 and McNeill’s bond was set at $405,000.

Deputies responded to an armed robbery at the 41 Grocery and Market, located at 9108 NC Highway 41 North in the Lumberton area, on Wednesday around 9:09 a.m., Major Anthony Thompson said in a press release. When law enforcement arrived, information was received that an unknown male walked into the store, fired a shot into the ceiling of the store, pointed the gun at the female clerk, and demanded money out of the register. The female clerk gave the suspect the cash drawer and he took it and left the store.

According to Thompson, Deese and McNeill are connected to the robbery of a Valero store in Lumberton. “Yes, they are the same suspects. They are connected,” he said.
