Two men have been arrested and charged in connection to an armed robbery of a Valero store in Lumberton.
James Cory Deese, 24, of Black Swamp Road in Lumberton, was identified and charged by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office and the Lumberton Police Department in connection with the robbery, Captain Terry W. Parker, with the LPD, said in a press release.
Deese is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon, second degree kidnapping, and possession of a firearm by a felon, Parker said. He is being held in the Robeson County Detention Center on a $175,000 secured bond.
Parker also said Deese is the person who entered the store and robbed the store at gunpoint.
Justin Jamil McNeill, 25, of Pretty Lane in Lumberton, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping, and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was given a bond of $175,000 and is being held in the Robeson County Detention Center.
According to Parker, a male suspect entered the Valero store at 2301 Lackey Street around 11:36 a.m. on Wednesday and robbed the store at gunpoint. The suspect then left the store with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was wearing what appeared to be a long sleeve jacket or coat, a mask covering his face, and gloves.
