A memorial was held on Tuesday evening for Heather Elvis five years after her disappearance.

The memorial was held at Peachtree Landing in Horry County and those in attendance were able to write the names of loved ones on a luminary. 

Elvis was reported missing after her vehicle was found abandoned at Peachtree Landing on December 19, 2013. According to phone records, Elvis was last heard from on December 18, 2013.

Tammy Moorer was found guilty of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and kidnapping in Elvis’ disappearance in October. The judge sentenced Tammy Moorer to 30 years in prison for conspiracy to commit kidnapping and 30 years for kidnapping. The sentences will run concurrently and she will get credit for time served. 

Sidney and Tammy Moorer were originally charged with murder in Elvis’ disappearance in 2013, but those charges were later dropped.

Sidney went to trial in 2016 on a kidnapping charge in connection to the case, but the jury deadlocked and the judge declared a mistrial.

He is currently serving a 10-year sentence for obstruction of justice. Sidney was found guilty in August 2017 after the state claimed he stalled the investigation by lying to police about his involvement and communication with Elvis.

He was unanimously denied parole in November for obstruction of justice.
