CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Online booking records indicate accused kidnapper Sidney Moorer has been transferred from Lee Correctional facility to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

According to J. Reuben Long online records, Moorer was booked into the facility Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.

Sidney Moorer’s wife, Tammy Moorer, is currently on trial for kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnap Heather Elvis. Sidney Moorer faces the same charges and was tried for kidnapping in 2017, but that trial ended in a hung jury. No date has been set for his retrial.

Sidney Moorer is currently serving a 10-year sentence for obstruction of justice. Moorer was found guilty in August 2017 after the state claimed he stalled the investigation by lying to police about his involvement and communication with missing woman Heather Elvis.

During pretrial motions for Tammy Moorer’s court proceedings, the state referenced the possibility of Sidney Moorer testifying, but that has not been confirmed as the reason of Sidney Moorer’s jail transfer.
