The weather will slowly return to normal across the eastern Carolinas this week. Rain bands will continue to dump heavy rain overnight but will gradually begin to lighten up by morning. Winds will be breezy with sometimes brief strong gusts through tonight and Monday. Rain will be considerably less widespread Monday and Tuesday but we could still see scattered showers and storms. A cold front will swing through Tuesday night and behind it, much drier and slightly cooler air will arrive. Temperatures will still be warm in the afternoon but the humidity will be much lower. The dry air will stick around through the end of the week before moisture returns for the weekend. Rain chances will stay lo, but scattered showers and storms are back in the forecast for next weekend.
