The sunny, hot weather will continue today with more record high temperatures. Current record highs today are 95 in Florence, set in 1991; and 92 in North Myrtle Beach, also set in 1991. Forecast highs are 101 in Florence and 95 in North Myrtle Beach. Record high temperatures will likely be broken on Thursday too. The area of high pressure responsible for this heat wave will start to weaken at the end of the week. A weak cold front will push into the Carolinas Friday into Saturday, This will lead to temperatures not quite as hot, and a slight chance for thunderstorms on Friday. Over the weekend high temperatures will be in the mid 90s inland, and upper 80s at the coast. Another cold front will move in on Sunday evening, bringing another slight chance for a few storms on Sunday afternoon. The cold front will move off shore early Monday morning and highs to start next week will be in the mid 80s along the coast, upper 80s to near 90 inland.
