Strong to Severe Storms Possible Sunday

Sunday will be a Weather Alert Day.
Parts of our area, mainly along and west of I-95 are in the “Slight” risk for severe weather.

Scattered showers and storms could pop up as early as 11am-4pm Sunday afternoon.  A few of these could be strong but it’s the main line back west from a cold front that will approach western Pee Dee and Border belt areas 5pm-8pm. Areas in yellow have the greatest risk for seeing an isolated strong to severe storm. This line will weaken as it moves eastward where there is a lower risk ( areas in green) for severe weather along the coast.

Main threats will be damaging winds, isolated large hail and an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. The good thing working in our favor now is timing coming in late evening.

The StormTracker 13 Weather Team will continue to monitor the latest weather conditions and will have more updates as the storm gets closer.
