Hot and humid temps will continue through Sunday with a low chance for an isolated shower or a storm each day. High pressure in the Atlantic will continue to keep us mostly dry but temperatures will stay well above normal. Afternoon highs will climb well into the mid 90s inland and near 90 at the beaches. “Feels like” temperatures will approach triple digits. Will keep the rain chances low this weekend, but with a stalled front to the north and the amount of heat we’ll see, can’t rule out a few showers and storms in the afternoon. With the energy and heat in place a few storms could be on the strong to maybe even severe side. Main threats would be the isolated damaging wind gust, and lots of lightning.
Monday, the cold front will try and move through from the north. This will increase rain chances as well as bring us some relief from the heat, especially for the middle of next week. If the cold front can move all the way through, high pressure will build in and we’ll dry out. Day time highs will be closer to average, near 90 inland and mid to upper 80s at the coast. If the front doesn’t make it all the way through, scattered showers and storms will remain in the forecast for the middle of the week and the air will stay humid.
