Hot, humid weather will continue into the weekend with just a slight chance for showers. High pressure offshore will stay put and control our weather into next week. We will see sunshine mixed with some clouds, and temperatures will stay above normal with highs in the upper 80s and low to mid 90s. Night time lows will fall into the 70s, and there will be patchy fog at night. Rain chances will stay low through the holiday weekend and into next week.

Tonight: Mostly clear, warm & muggy. Areas of fog. Lows 70-72 inland, 74-76 beaches.
Sunday: mostly sunny hot and humid. Highs 95 inland, 88 beaches.
Labor Day: Mostly sunny hot and humid. Highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Tropical Outlook: There are two systems in the Atlantic we are keeping an eye on. The first system is Tropical Storm Florence which continues to move away from the Cabo Verde Islands into the Atlantic. It is forecast to have modest strengthening but stay a tropical storm and continue northwest. Right now, there is no threat to the U.S. and we’ll continue to monitor Florence’s intensity and track.

The second area is a disorganized tropical wave near the Bahamian Islands. This area will move into the Gulf of Mexico and by then has a medium chance of developing into a tropical system. This would be no threat to the Carolinas even if development occurs. It will however, bring lots of moisture and rain to portions of Florida and the Gulf Coast States next week.
