An active weekend is in store for the Carolinas as a strong front develops out west. Clouds will stick around tonight with morning lows in the mid to upper 40s. Saturday will be a very nice day with temps in the mid to upper 60s but skies will be mostly cloudy. We could also see a few sprinkles here and there. Winds will pick up Saturday afternoon as the strong cold front approaches.
Rain chances will increase Saturday evening and stay elevated through the night as the moisture ahead of the cold front moves through. The cold front will clear the coast late Sunday morning and the cold, arctic air will usher in Sunday afternoon dropping temps throughout the day. Morning lows on Monday will be in the mid to upper 20s. Even though sunshine returns Monday, highs will only climb to near 40 in the afternoon.
Another cold night is in store Monday night with lows in the 20s again for Tuesday morning. A brief warming trend will commence Tuesday and Wednesday before another front with rain chances arrives Wednesday afternoon. That front will keep us cool heading into next weekend.
