Friday is a Weather Alert Day due to the risk for severe thunderstorms. The main threats from these storms will be damaging wind and heavy rain, but there will also be a tornado threat. Before this system arrives, humidity will increase. Tonight will be mainly clear and mild. We will see a mix of clouds and sunshine tomorrow, and it will be warm and more humid. Clouds will increase tomorrow night, and a few showers are possible late. Friday will be mostly cloudy, windy, warm and humid. There will be a chance for showers in the morning, but the severe weather risk will come with a line of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. The storms will move into the Pee Dee after 3pm, cross I-95 around 6pm, then move off the coast after 9pm. A few showers will longer overnight and on Saturday, but the severe threat will be over. It will cool for the weekend, then warmer weather will return next week.
