After this morning’s cold start, temps will slowly rebound into the mid 50s. Besides more cloud cover, today should be pretty similar to yesterday across the Carolinas. More clouds will be seen at the coast thanks to a system moving by offshore. Any rain associated with that system will stay offshore as well, keeping us dry through the next couple of days. Tonight will still be chilly but not as cold as previous nights thanks to that cloud cover.
Gradual clearing in the skies is expected Monday as that offshore system pulls away but clouds quickly return Tuesday ahead of our next cold front. The cold front will be a strong one with very cold air behind it. Ahead of it though, temps should warm into the low 60s Tuesday afternoon.
The front will pass through Tuesday evening with a few lighter showers moving by. after that, very cold air will rush in behind it and morning lows will be back in the upper 20s and low 30s Wednesday morning. Highs Wednesday and Thursday will be cold as well, only in the low to mid 40s.
A slow warming trend begins by the end of the week, but temps remain below average. Highs Friday and Saturday will be near 50 and we should stay dry.
Today: mostly cloudy at the beaches and partly cloudy inland. Highs 55 inland, 54 beaches.
Tonight: mostly cloudy, not as cold but still chilly. Lows 36 inland, 39 beaches.
Monday: gradual clearing in the clouds. Highs in the mid 50s.
