The period of sunshine and cool temps is over as a series of fronts and storm systems move through the southeast. Clouds will begin to move in tonight as moisture returns. A few showers will move inland from the coast Thursday afternoon, but the day will not be a washout. Widespread showers and a few rumbles of thunder are possible throughout the day Friday. The chance for showers will continue each day through next Wednesday. The highest rainfall amounts are likely inland, west of the I-95 corridor with totals of 2 to 4 inches expected. Closer to the beach 1 to 3 inches are possible through next week.

Temperatures will begin a warming trend tonight with morning lows on Thursday not as cool. Lows will drop into the mid 30s inland and will be closer to 40 at the coast. Friday and Saturday will be much warmer with highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Then temperatures will begin to cool off again Sunday and into next week.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, chilly. Lows 36 inland, 42 beaches.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a few showers. Highs 58 inland, 61 beaches.
Friday: Rain likely with a few rumbles of thunder. Highs near 70.
