The record heat will continue today, then small changes in the weather start Friday. High pressure will hold on, keeping it sunny and hot today. Today’s records are 96 in Florence and 90 in North Myrtle Beach, both set back in 1953. High temperatures should be near 100° again inland, mid 90s along the coast, both should be records. A weak cold front will push into the Carolinas on Friday, bringing a small chance for a thunderstorm, and knocking temperatures down a few degrees. It will still be hot with highs in the low to mid 90s, but not the record heat that we have had recently. Temperatures will stay above normal with a slight chance for a thunderstorm again on Sunday. The extreme heat is not expected to return through next week.

Tonight, mainly clear, warm and muggy. Lows 70-72 inland, 74-76 beaches.
Friday, partly sunny, hot and humid with a chance for an isolated thunderstorm. Highs 90-95.
