The record heat will continue tomorrow, then small changes in the weather start Friday. High pressure will hold on tonight and tomorrow, keeping it mainly clear, warm and muggy tonight, then sunny and hot tomorrow. Tomorrow’s records are 96 in Florence and 90 in North Myrtle Beach, both set in 1953. High temperatures should be a couple degrees hotter than the records. A weak cold front will push into the Carolinas on Friday, bringing a small chance for a thunderstorm, and knocking temperatures down a few degrees. It will still be hot with highs in the low to mid 90s, but not the record heat that we have had recently. Temperatures will stay above normal with a slight chance for a thunderstorm over the weekend. The extreme heat is not expected to return through next week.
