Today will start off sunny, then clouds will increase ahead of the next system heading our way. Rain will develop Sunday night and continue through Monday. It will warm up early next week with showers and strong thunderstorms possible Tuesday as a cold front gets closer. A Weather Alert Day has been issued for areas west of I-95 on Tuesday. Main threat will be an isolated damaing wind gust 40-60mph. There is a very low chance for an isolated tornado. The storms will move in late afternoon Tuesday into the early evening across the Pee Dee. By the time they make their way to the coast, it’ll be late evening and there won’t be as much energy to work with. While storm activity will be dying down, there could be an isolated strong storm along the coast. It will dry out for Wednesday and Thursday. A stronger cold front will move through Friday bringing another round of rain and even colder temperatures for next weekend.
