A chance for showers remains in the forecast each day through Friday. Sunshine and cooler temps will return next weekend. Tonight skies will stay mostly cloudy and temps will be cool to mild.
New Years Eve and New Year’s day will likely remain mostly dry. A few showers are possible inland Monday morning and then again Tuesday afternoon. However, when the clock strikes midnight, as of Sunday’s models, the eastern Carolinas will be dry. Temps will be warm with highs Monday near 70 and in the mid 70s Tuesday.
Another system approaches and increases rain chances Wednesday, Thursday and into Friday. This will bring more wide spread moderate rain to the area. High pressure will fully take over next weekend and finally dry the southeast out. Cooler air arrives Thu nd Fri with highs in the mid to upper 50s but we turn mild again next weekend.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy, areas of fog. Lows 51-53 inland, 53-54 beaches.
Monday: Isolated shower, otherwise partly cloudy. Highs 68 beaches, 70 inland.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, warm with a few showers. Highs in the mid 70s.
