A few showers/storms are possible overnight

A cold front sitting back to the west will continue to inch closer to the Carolinas tonight. Ahead of the front, plenty of moisture and warm air are fueling showers and thunderstorms. A few of these could linger into the evening and overnight hours. The front will continue to drift east through Saturday. This will keep showers and storms in the forecast, but most activity will develop in the afternoon hours when temperatures are warmest. Saturday evening the cold front will be shoved south of the Carolinas thanks to high pressure building in to the north. This high pressure will filter in cooler and much drier air by Monday. High pressure will remain in control through the first half of the week. Temperatures will be warm and muggy through Saturday before they cool off Sunday. Overnight lows will drop into the 60s and afternoon highs will be in the low 80s. A slow warm up will begin next week.

Tonight: Party cloudy, a few storms. Lows 74 inland, 76 beaches.
Friday: Partly cloudy, sct’d storms. Highs 90 inland, 88 beaches,
Saturday: Parlty cloudy with sct’d storms. Highs in the low to mid 80s.
