LIST: Holiday celebrations around the Grand Strand

Many communities along the Grand Strand will host events to celebrate the holiday season. These events include:

– Barefoot Landing Holiday events:

– Broadway at the Beach’s “A Very Broadway Christmas”: The all day event on Dec. 1 will feature holiday-themed entertainment and activities, including a tree lighting ceremony.

Church of the Resurrection Surfside Beach “Return to Bethlehem Live Drive Thru Nativity” and “Blue Christmas”:

Conway Christmas Tree Lighting: November 29 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the corner of Third Avenue and Main Street. 

– Conway Christmas Tree Parade: Dec. 8 at 10 a.m.

– Conway Rivertown Holiday Market: Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m at the Conway Recreation Center, located at 1515 Mill Pond Road. 

– Garden of Hope Tree Lighting Ceremony: starts at 6 p.m. on November 30 at 1395 Carver Street in Myrtle Beach. Event will feature holiday music, hot chocolate, cider, cookies, face-painting, and photos with Santa. For more information, call Neighborhood Services sat 843-918-1062. 

– Grand Strand Health’s 2nd Annual Cookies & Cocoa with Santa: Dec. 1 from 2-4 p.m. at Grand Strand Medical Center’s main lobby (809 82nd Parkway in Myrtle Beach), according to a press release from Grand Strand Health. “Santa will be flying in on a helicopter by LifeNet SC, weather permitting” and parents “are encouraged to bring their own camera or cell phone to take free pictures during the visit with Santa.”

– Grinch candy cane hunt at Loris Nature Park: Dec. 1 from 10-11 a.m. at Loris Nature Park, located at 300 Loris Lion Road. Cost is one dollar per child and participants can register here

– Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach “Pets Light Up Our Lives”: Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. at McLean Park. Event will feature Christmas music, refreshments, gift basket raffles, blessing of the animals, and a tree lighting. Pets are welcome and those that attend will receive a gift. Lights can be purchased for $10 per pet through Dec. 12.  Red lights will represent pets who are alive, white lights will be for pets who have passed, and blue lights will be for those in the shelter. 

– Loris Tree Lighting and Christmas parade: Tree lighting will be at 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 in Downtown Loris, followed by the parade at 7 p.m. Event is hosted by the City of Loris and the Loris Chamber of Commerce. 

– MarshWalk’s 4th Annual Santa Crawl: Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. in Murrells Inlet. Featured holiday drinks from restaurants and dinner specials will be available. There will also be a costume contest and winners wil lbe announced at 10 p.m behind Bovine’s.

– Murrells Inlet Christmas Tree Lighting: on Nov. 30 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Event is free and will have crafts, hot chocolate, cookies, music, and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus. 

– Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade: Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. Begins at corner of Sunnyside Ave. and Hwy 17 Business and ends at Wachesaw Road. 

– 9th Annual Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson Toy Run Ride: Dec. 1st. Registration is from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m., and ride starts at noon. The cost is $10 per person or a new, unwrapped toy donation to benefit our local Red Cross. 

– Myrtle Beach Fire Department 8th Annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa: Dec. 9 at St. Johns Greek Orthodox church. Breakfast is free, but donations will be accepted. There will also be free photos with Santa. 

– North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade: will start at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 on Main Street. Parade with travel down Main Street to Ocean Boulevard and 2nd Avenue. 

– North Myrtle Beach “Christmas Cantata”: will be held at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church, located at 410 6th Ave. South, at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 and on Dec. 2 at 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Admission is free and tickets are available from the NMB Chamber of Commerce. 

– North Myrtle Beach Christmas tree lighting: Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at McLean Park. 

– North Myrtle Beach Community Band Christmas concert: Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m.at J. Bryan Floyd Community center. Free admission. 

– Humane Society of NMB Pet Photos with Santa Paws: will be held on Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wags and Whiskers. A $20 donation is asked for a 4×6 print. Call 843-280-7686 to book photo. 

Surfside Beach Christmas Tree Lighting: November 29 at 7 p.m. at the front lawn of the town hall. 

– Surfside Beach Christmas Parade: Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. Begins at Melody Lane traveling north on Ocean Blvd., to Surfside Drive, then to Poplar Drive.
