Downtown Florence will host the “Lucky Number 13 Country Jam” on Friday.
Ray Reich, Florence’s Downtown Development Manager, says in a press release the event will be held in the 100 block of North Dargan Street.
“The family-oriented event will celebrate Friday the 13th as well as welcome and invite the NHPA World Horseshoe Tournament attendees currently visiting Florence to experience Downtown Florence while they are here. Locals are encouraged to attend the event, too and not only enjoy a night of country music and fun, but also extend some warm Florence hospitality to the visitors of our community,” Reich also says.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the Barry Brown Band will begin playing at 6 p.m., according to Reich. “Barry Brown and his band are famous for putting on one of the most energetic Country and Southern Rock shows in the southeast. They’ve had the good fortune to be the opening act for such artists as Kenny Chesney, Brooks and Dunn, Hank Williams Jr., Sugarland, Gary Allen, Sammy Kershaw, Gretchen Wilson, and many others, and most recently played Myrtle Beach’s Carolina County Music Festival,” he says.
Admission is free and attendees can bring chairs, Reich says. No coolers are allowed. The event will also include activities such as face paintings, a cornhole tournament, food vendors, and a prize wheel. Proceeds from the prize wheel will go to Lucky Dog Animal Rescue.
