The Tennessee Titans are still alive to be Big Game Bound! However, they are going to need some help to get there.
With only 4 games to play the Titans are realistically fighting for the last Wild Card spot in the AFC, but they have company with Baltimore (7-5), Denver (6-6), Indianapolis (6-6) and Miami (6-6) all still in the mix.
The Titans’ biggest problem is their record against AFC teams. They are 4-6 against teams in the conference and that is easily the worst of the teams fighting for the last spot.
The Titans have four games remaining and if they can win them they will have a very good chance of making the postseason. One of those games is against the Colts, so if they win that game they pass Indianapolis in the standings. They need some help against the Ravens, Dolphins and Broncos, especially considering they lost head to head games with Baltimore and Miami.
This weekend things could really go in the Titans’ favor with the Ravens visiting the juggernaut Kansas City Chiefs and the Dolphins hosting the always tough New England Patriots.
The Broncos have really picked up steam and while they visit San Francisco in a very winnable game, Wednesday the team revealed they have likely lost star receiver Emmanuel Sanders for the season to a torn Achilles.
The Titans know every game is a must-win the rest of the way, virtually all of them say they are already in “playoff mode” and that means beating the rival Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday night in their third game in 11 days.
Earlier this season they beat the Jags 9-6 in Jacksonville giving them 5 wins in their last 6 games against the Jaguars. They have also beaten Jacksonville 4 straight times at Nissan Stadium.
If they lose Thursday, Big Game Bound gives way to big disappointment.
