MYRTLE BEACH- The Pelicans were shutout for the eighth time this season, as the Winston-Salem Dash broke a 0-0 tie in the ninth with five runs to win 5-0 at TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark on Wednesday night.

In his first start in nearly two years, left-hander Micahel Heesch fired five shutout innings for the Pelicans. He struck out three and gave up four hits.

With two outs the contest scoreless into the top of the ninth the Dash tipped the scales and pounced for five runs on five consecutive singles to grab a 5-0 lead.

The Pelicans (46-37, 5-9 second half) wrap up their three-game series against the Dash on Thursday with the first pitch from TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
