Columbia, SC – By a vote of 18-0, the South Carolina High School League Committee voted to extended the high school football season by one week due to the impacts and flooding from Hurricane Florence. This means week 4 of the season would be made up on November the 2nd, the playoffs would begin on November the 9th and the state championships would be held in Columbia now on December the 7th and the 8th. This is the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons this has happened due to weather related incidents. Our private schools in the SCISA league will not make up games according to an article released by The State newspaper in Columbia.
