Conway, S.C. (WBTW) — The South team defeated the North team 13-10 to win the North vs South Bowl for the first time in three seasons while the 82nd Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas ended in a tie.

The North vs. South Bowl was played at the home of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in Conway. Hartsville quarterback/athlete Tiyon Evans was named the South team offensive MVP after gaining 228 all-purpose yards. Socastee product and division one recruit Kenney Solomon broke the game open with an interception that he returned for a touchdown to open the second half. On defense Myrtle Beach and South Florence defensive lineman J.B. Favorite and Michael Mason each had a sack with Mason leading the defense with seven total tackles.

Out in Spartanburg at the 82nd Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas there was a tie for the first time since the 1940s as neither teams offense could get going. South Carolina commit and S.C. Mr. Football Zacch Pickens was named the MVP of the game. Wake Forest commit and Dillon alum Shamar McCollum had five total tackles to go along with a sack and a tackle for a loss. Michael Hayes and Ailym Ford from West Florence each contributed. Hayes went 1/1 on field goals and had a touchback on kickoffs. Ford had three catches for 15 yards and carried the ball for ten yards.
