Darlington Football Head Coach Resigns

Darlington, S.C. (WBTW) — Darlington High School varsity football coach John Jones Jr. announced his resignation today after four years as the Falcons head coach to pursue other coaching opportunities. In a statement released by the Darlington County School District principal Courtney Gehrke said, “We appreciate the four years Coach Jones spent with our Falcon family. He has worked hard to share his passion, vision and determination with our students. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.” 

Jones went 9-33 as the Falcons head coach including 0-9 this season. He will continue his teaching responsibilities at Darlington High School and the school will begin the search for the new varsity football head coach immediately.
