AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – It’s one of the hottest tickets in sports. If you’re trying to get into the practice rounds, you know it can cost a pretty penny.

“For the last hour, as we walked around the parking lot, we’ve been asked multiple times for  tickets.”

The most anticpated event of the year is here. Masters week in Augusta.

“You gotta have a few dollars, thats numer one. But it’s one of the toughest tickets to get for sports.”

But Jeff Garrigan says he got lucky this year.

“Well you gotta know somebody, it’s hard these days. We were able to get tickets from a friend of a friend.”

It may take months or even years to get ticket to the Masters and even though there seems to be some quick fixes for that. Some people say they rather get their tickets the correct way.

“I don’t go that way, I liked to do it legit, I don’t want any issues,” says Bob Garrigan.

Tickets for the practice rounds cost $75 dollars per person. For the tournament, credentials cost $115 dollars. And they are sold out. Many are willing to pay top dollar to scalpers. But some who are lucky enough to be patrons say they woudldn’t give them up for any amount.

“This is a once in a lifetime deal,” says Dough Clayton. “I don’t care how much they offer, I’m not going to do it. We came from Portland, Oregon, so we’re going in to those gates.”

And if you are attending the tournament this year remember you can only scan your ticket to get in twice per day.

And you cannot buy or sell tickets or credentials within 2700 feeet of Augusta National Golf Club.

If you’re looking for other ways to attend, become a volunteer. There are more than 700 volunteers at the tournament each year.
