Older patients who suffer hip fractures are more likely to die if they are hospitalized for only a short time, according to a study in the British Medical Journal. Researchers found patients released from the hospital within 5 days were twice as likely to die compared to those who stayed 15 days or more. Young women tend to ignore the early warning signs of cardiac arrest such as pain and dizziness. Researchers at Yale interviewed women under 55 who were hospitalized for heart attacks.
