The Lumberton Police Department investigates a homicide.
According to Captain Terry W. Parker with the Lumberton Police Department it happened Tuesday around 1:00 a.m. at a home located at 1909 Lambeth Street in Lumberton.
Officers arrived and found William Nathaniel Covington, 21 dead from an apparent gunshot.
Police arrested Walter Morrell McKoy Jr., 20 of Graham Road in Lumberton in connection to the deadly shooting.
He is charged with first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging firearm in the city limit, and possession of a schedule VI drug.
McKoy is in custody held without bond.
