NICHOLS, S.C. (WBTW) – The #Relief4Nichols organization gave Virginia Edwards a 2001 Volvo car Friday. Four different organizations started the foundation to help support the Town on Nichols recover from Hurricane Matthew.

Edwards was entered in the drawing by her nephew who lives in Marion County. When she received the call about winning she thought it was a hoax but now says it is a blessing because her car was flooded by the storm.

“The car I have can’t go faster than 45 miles an hour. We lost everything. They will never know how much we appreciate this,” Edwards said as tears fill her eyes.

She says the car will help her get to her doctors appointments in Florence each week and most importantly church.
