ISLE OF PALMS, SC  – A Boiling Springs woman was arrested near Charleston when she spit on and threatened to kill officers who were called when she and her husband were arguing, police say.

The arrest happened at The Refuge restaurant on Palm Boulevard in Isle of Palms.

Officers say the woman appeared drunk and refused to show ID while yelling obscenities at them.

According to the police report, Maureen Culbreth threatened kill two officers by ‘ripping their throats out like a vampire’ and she also threatened to have one officer killed by US Representative Trey Gowdy.

Officers say that during the arrest, they had to shackle her legs after she started kicking the window of the patrol car.

Officers say she also spit on one officer while he was trying to put the leg shackles on her.

Culbreth is charged with Disorderly Conduct, two counts of Threatening Life of a Public Official, and Throwing Body Fluids.
