MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A woman reported being punched, slapped, and kicked by a man in a Myrtle Beach alley way.
Officers responded to South Strand Hospital around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday to interview the victim of a strong armed robbery, according to an incident report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department. The 28-year-old victim stated that around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, she was on her way to work at the Coral Beach Hotel, when she was attacked by an unknown white male in an alley way between 9th Ave. S and 10th Ave. S.
The victim said the suspect approached her from behind and struck her in the back of the head, causing her to fall forward to the ground and hit her forehead.
The victim further stated to police that while she was on the ground, the suspect continued to punch, slap, and kick her.
The victim’s wallet containing her ID, prepaid Walmart credit card, Medicaid card, cash, cell phone, and cell phone charger reportedly fell out of her pocket when she fell to the ground, the report also said. The victim also said she believed she went unconscious after the attack because the attack happened around 10:45 p.m. and she didn’t remember regaining consciousness until around 11:45 p.m.
The victim also reported that when she regained consciousness, her belongings weren’t on the ground, according to the report. The attack reportedly lasted between 25 and 30 seconds, and the suspect left in an unknown direction.
The victim told police she didn’t get a good look at the suspect, but said he was about 5-feet, 6-inches tall and about 300 pounds. The suspect reportedly had on a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pullover his head and the drawstring tied tight. He was also reportedly wearing a ski mask that only showed his eyes, which were dark in color, had dark colored pants, and a “Chinese” symbol tattooed on his left hand and wrist area. The victim also reportedly told police the suspect didn’t speak at all during the attack.
