MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach woman claimed she was assaulted after police said she met someone who responded to a help wanted advertisement on Craigslist.
According to a Myrtle Beach police report, the man responded to a construction job ad on Craigslist and the woman set up the meeting location.
She met him at the Dunes Hotel in Myrtle Beach Saturday around 3:30 p.m., the report said.
She told police she did not feel safe and asked that he follow her to a local restaurant.
The man followed her on until he flashed his truck lights for her to pull over, the report said.
Once in a parking lot on North Kings Highway, the man approached her car and threatened her with a knife, according to the report.
The woman told police the man then dragged her out of the vehicle and demanded money. She told the man she did not have any money, the report said.
The woman told police the man cut two of her car tires and told her he would kill her before throwing her to the ground and driving away.
According to police, officers located and identified the man involved in the incident.
The man told police he found the woman on backpage.com, then arranged and contracted the woman to “perform sexual acts in exchange for money.”
According to the report, 28-year-old Wesli Marlana Libasci took the money without performing the sexual acts.
The man said he confronted Libasci and slashed her tires for taking his money and not performing the sexual acts.
Police said no robbery took place and charged Libasci with filing a false police report.
No charges were filed against the man in the incident.
