A woman left a wallet with $4,000 dollars in a dressing room at the Coastal Grand Mall.

A police report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department says officers responded to the Charlotte Russe store at the mall around 6:50 p.m. on Saturday for a larceny report. Upon arriving, officers spoke with a woman, identified in the report as Brittany Baker, 24.

Baker told officers she had $4,000 missing from her wallet and that she left the wallet in the dressing room after trying on clothes, according to the report. Baker also says she left the store and continued to shop. She later returned to the store after realizing that she left the wallet and noticed the money missing. The report also says Baker was unable to provide a time frame of the above events.

According to the report, the store’s camera system was reviewed and cameras show Baker entering the dressing room around 5:57 p.m. and leaving shortly after 6 p.m. The cameras also show Baker didn’t have the wallet in her possession when she left the dressing room. The wallet was found by an employee of the store around 6:20 p.m. in a dressing room.

This employee says she didn’t open the wallet and returned it to the front desk of the store after finding it, the report also says. The employee didn’t have cash in her wallet or employee locker. The employee also told police the store has mandatory inventory checks before leaving to make sure employees aren’t taking items illegally.

There wasn’t enough information to positively identify a suspect, the report also states.
