TIMMONSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – The Florence County Coroner says a woman found on the side of the road west of Timmonsville in February died by strangulation.
Chief Deputy Glenn Kirby with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office said the body of a woman was found on the side of the road on Highway 76, between Chaney Grove Road and Tolson Road.
According to Major Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, a passerby saw the body at around 11:30 on February 24, and called authorities. Deputies arrived on scene shortly after.
Florence County Coroner Keith VonLutcken identified the victim as 20-year-old Totyana Ham of Florence. According to Von Lutcken, the autopsy showed her cause of death was asphyxiation due to strangulation.
