A woman driving a Jeep SUV died in a single car crash on Monday afternoon, officials said.
On Tuesday, Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the victim as McKinsey Cook, 21, of Cayce.
The incident happened around 12:15 pm on Interstate 95 at mile marker 179, said Cpl. Sonny Collins of the SC Highway Patrol.
The woman, who was heading northbound in a Jeep Liberty, hit the left side guardrail, then went off the right side of the road and hit a tree, Collins said.
The woman was the only occupant of the Jeep, which crashed 2 miles south of the SC 38 exit, Collins said.
The woman was wearing a seatbelt, but she still sustained fatal injuries, Collins said.
