LITTLE RIVER, SC (WBTW) – A woman has been charged with reckless homicide for a deadly December crash in Little River.
Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, confirmed to News13 that Alisha Sue Gore was arrested in connection to the crash.
According to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records, Gore is charged with reckless homicide, death results within one year, caused by injury from vehicle. She was booked around 1:15 p.m. on Monday and remains in the center as of 6 p.m. Monday. No bail has been set.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden identified the woman who died as Christine Russel, 62. Russel was living in the Calabash, North Carolina area.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 1702 US 17 near Lakeside Drive in Little River around 7:30 p.m. on December 28.
A News13 photographer said three cars were involved in the incident. The vehicles were badly damaged.
According to Cpl. Collins, the driver of a Ford Focus pulled out of a private driveway onto Highway 17 when they hit an oncoming Chevrolet Equinox that was traveling south. The driver of the Equinox then struck a Honda Odyssey that was traveling north. The driver of the Ford Focus was killed.
