ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) – Authorities say they have charged an 18-year-old woman with murder after she attacked a man who let her stay in his home with a hammer.

Police say Tyekiva Harvin and an unidentified man left the Orangeburg apartment after the Sunday morning attack.

Orangeburg Public Safety Chief Mike Adams said at a press conference that 68-year-old Bobby Huggins ran from his bedroom after being hit with the hammer and a man in his living room then shot him several times.

Adams says Huggins was able to call 911 and identify his attackers before he died.

Adams says Huggins sometimes let Harvin stay in his home because she was homeless.

The chief says investigators are still trying to identify the man with the gun who was with Harvin.

Police are searching for Harvin who goes by multiples aliases and may be armed and dangerous.

She has brown eyes, black hair and is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 205 pounds, according to police.

Harvin may use the name “Ty” or Paris Miller.
