MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW)- The South Carolina Highway Patrol charged a 21-year-old woman after a crash between a car and bicycle killed one person in Marlboro County on Sunday.
Lance Corporal Hannah Wimberly says the accident happened around 12:50 Sunday afternoon along SC Highway 38 and Daniels Lane.
Wimberly says the driver of a 2008 Infiniti was traveling north on SC 38 before hitting a median and then hitting someone riding a bicycle. Troopers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the driver of the Infiniti, Rebecca Krouse, hitting the median.
SCHP says Krouse is charged with reckless driving.
The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol MAIT team.
Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown identified the victim as 47-year-old Leonard Thomas of Marlboro County. Thomas died from injuries sustained in the crash, Brown said.
