LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – On Tuesday Robeson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman for allegedly furnishing cell phones to inmates at the Robeson County Detention Center.
The press release says an investigation into cell phones at the detention center was initiated in July, and over the course of the investigation, officials identified Bonnie Ruth Delong as a suspect.
Delong, 36, was a licensed practical nurse that worked part time at the Robeson County Detention center from July 2015 to Aug. 29 of this year. The release from Sheriff Kenneth Sealey says she is accused of furnishing two cell phones for inmate James Carvie Hunt.
Warants obtained for Delong list two counts of felony conspiracy, two counts of furnishing cell phone to inmate, and one count of stolen property. She was placed in the Robeson County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.
