Woman accidentally shot in head outside Raleigh gun show

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – Authorities say a woman was accidentally shot in the head outside a gun show at the State Fairgrounds.

Local media outlets report 29-year-old Alyssa Glosson of Cameron was shot about 10:15 a.m. Saturday outside the Dixie Gun & Knife Classic. She was rushed to WakeMed. WTVD reports she was released later in the day.

Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison says Glosson’s husband, 30-year-old William, bought two, unloaded guns at the show. One was similar to a loaded gun that was in his truck. After getting into his truck, he handed the two similar guns to his back-seat passenger to compare them.

William Glosson has a concealed carry permit.

Harrison says the passenger, Lasonya Judd, accidentally fired the loaded gun. The bullet went through the head rest and struck the wife.
