For most high school students, college is right around the corner.

It is why one Pee Dee high school looks to “gear them up” for their future.

Wilson High School’s Gear Up program, along with SC Can Go invited parents and students from around the Pee Dee to sign-up complete FAFSA application or financial aid applications Thursday night.

It was a chance to get an early start for students to get needed money for school.

“Well we know that the sooner you get it done the more money you may have available, instead of waiting later.  Also like I said before, then also with that we let them know of other programs out there by doing this early as we can,” said Andy Bostick, Gear Up coach.

To submit an application is free.  The deadline to turn into forms is June 30th.
