KINGSTREE, SC (WBTW0 – On October 7, 2016, Williamsburg County Government Officials are imposing curfew for its citizens.
County Government Officials are asking businesses to consider closing at 7:00 p.m. due to Hurricane Matthew. Hurricane Matthew is expected to begin impacting Williamsburg County around 4:00 p.m., and a tropical storm warning is in effect.
Williamsburg County Public Safety Officials are urging citizens to stay off the roadways as weather conditions worsen.
The following law enforcement agencies will enforce “curfews” starting Friday at 8:00 p.m. ending at 8:00 a.m. until further notice for their jurisdictions. These “curfews” will be strictly enforced, citations will be issued to violators. They are:
Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office
Greeleyville Police Department
Hemingway Police Department
Kingstree Police Department
Lane Police Department
Williamsburg County Emergency Management Division is now at operating condition level one (OPCON1).

Citizens are asked to bring medications, personal items, portable beds, toiletries, important documents and linens.
