SALTERS, SC (WBTW) – Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that they have made three arrests in a theft ring that crossed county lines.

According to investigator Alex Edwards, officers received a tip about suspicious activity reported on Highway 377 in Salters July 22.

The booking reports say investigators found three people throwing items off a bridge into the river and arrested Curtis Lacey Green, 36, Carl Belton Burrows, 30, and Tiffany Daniel Welch, 35  for possession of stolen property.

Edwards says the items were stolen from properties in Williamsburg County and that the suspects had committed the crimes supply a heroin addiction.

Reports mention the suspects stealing checks, antiques, cast iron pots, a lawn mower, a ladder, and a wagon wheel.

The three face multiple counts of forgery, larceny, burglary and possession.

The press release says that the suspects faced charges in Florence and Clarendon County, too.
