FLORENCE – Will Muschamp is new to South Carolina football, but he already has plenty of fans. Thursday in Florence, many got to meet the Gamecocks new leader for the first time when South Carolina’s SpursUp tour rolled in to the Florence Civic Center.
About 400 fans lined up to get autographs from Muschamp. He told them there is reason for hope going forward, and he’s glad to have their support.
“As coach Spurrier always said, you are what your record is,” he said. “And right now we are a 3-9 program at this point, so we’ve got to battle through that, and that’s what we plan on doing.”
It’s the second trip Muschamp has made to the Eastern Carolinas. He was in Myrtle Beach Tuesday. His next stop on the tour is next Tuesday in Greenville.
