MARION, SC (WBTW) Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of the West Marion Baptist Church being vandalized.

According to Major Brian Wallace with Marion County Sheriff’s Office the damage was discovered Saturday morning. Wallace says a glass door was shattered at the church while it also looked like a vehicle had driven into a shed damaging it and a bench nearby.

Major Wallace says tire tracks could be seen at the church and the double-door frame on the storage shed behind the church had been removed. An air compressor was stolen from the shed.

The vandalism is under investigation. The damage is expected to be around $5,000.
