FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW)- The West Florence Fire Department was dispatched to the Sumter Street extension for a reported overturned vehicle around 1:50 Sunday afternoon.
One Engine and two rescue trucks responded along with 12 firefighters to find a single vehicle overturned in a ditch with one person trapped.
West Florence firefighters used pneumatic air bags and high lift jacks to remove the patient who was partially trapped underneath the vehicle.
According to Captain Anthony Fox, the patient was extricated in about fifteen minutes and then turned over to Florence County Emergency Medical Services for transport to an area Hospital.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol was on scene and was investigating the cause of the collision.
