WATCH VIDEO: Photojournalist saves pregnant woman from burning car

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA  – A TV photojournalist played hero Tuesday, carrying a 7 and a half months pregnant woman out of a burning car in Louisiana.

WBRZ photographer Patrick Perry was driving behind the woman on the way to an unrelated story. That’s when the 21-year-old woman lost control, ran off the road, and crashed into trees along the highway.

The photojournalist stopped the news vehicle, carried the woman out of the burning sports car and gently set her down on the pavement.

Meanwhile, the reporter with him grabbed a camera and recorded the whole thing.

Paramedics arrived and took the woman to the hospital.

She appeared confused but did not seem severely injured. There’s no word yet on how she’s doing.

In a subsequent interview, Perry said “We’re human first, tell the story second.”
