(MEDIA GENERAL) – Ladies, let’s have a quick conversation. What’s the most romantic place your beau could pop the question? A baseball game, right?
Forking out the $100 fee to get your names on the jumbotron. Delicately ensuring he doesn’t drip any nacho cheese on his jersey before the break in the fifth inning. It’s the stuff of Shakespeare.
One young Romeo decided to propose to his girlfriend at Tuesday’s game at Yankee Stadium, and, well, things didn’t go quite according to plan.
Cameras caught Andrew Fox, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, holding the ring box with a stunned look on his face as he mouthed the words, “the ring just dropped.” Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay picked up the action on YES Network, as surrounding fans and stadium personnel whipped out their flashlights to look under the seats for the ring.
After a few minutes of searching, the ring was found in the cuff of his soon-to-be fiancée’s pant leg and the crowd let out a Bronx cheer – figuratively and, in this case, literally.
She said yes.
