INDIANAPOLIS (WISH/MEDIA GENERAL) – Cue the “OMG SO CUTE!” responses. The Indianapolis Zoo has released a new video of a baby orangutan that is gaining popularity on social media.

The petite primate, a 5-month-old orangutan named Mila, is learning how to climb on a fenced wall of her habitat.

After posting Tuesday night, the video already has more than 54,000 views on Facebook.

The zoo noted Mila’s mom, Sirih, was off camera and was intently watching Mila learn her new skill. The zoo says orangutan babies stay with their mothers between 7 to 9 years while learning life skills.

Orangutans have an average lifespan of 30 to 40 years and stand between 4 to 5 feet when fully grown. Their native habitat is the rainforests of Southeast Asia. They are considered an endangered species as they continue to lose their habitat to deforestation and the logging industry.— WISH contributed to this story.
